Whatever is Lovely

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things."Philippians 4: 8 NIV

In fact, in Philippians 4:8, it shows that we should strive to “think about such things” - keeping truth, purity and loveliness at the forefront of our thoughts at all times. We are called to fully embrace the goodness of God and to walk out our daily lives remembering all that is praiseworthy and noble.

It’s so easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day grind, and before you know it, your mind is focused on what you should have said to the man who cut in front of you or to the woman who sneered at you for taking too long at the drive-thru. Am I right? In these instances, we have to make a choice - do we spend our energy on the ugliness around us, or do we focus our hearts and minds on God - celebrating every day in His beauty, in His truth and in His love for us?

Thank You Lord for the joy that gives me strength. Definition if Joy - a feeling of great pleasure and happiness; emotion evoked by well-being, success or good fortune. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 “Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!” Nehemiah‬ ‭8:10‬b‬‬ “You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.’” Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭28‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Joy is something that goes much deeper than happiness. Happiness is a mental or emotional state. Joy is what causes you to be happy. Joy is the source of our strength according to God’s Word. That source is the Lord. God doesn't just want us to be happy. Advent Season

Advent Season started November 30th 2025 and ends December 24 th , 2025 Advent means the coming of Christ /period leading up to Christmas. It is the first season of the Christian Church year. On each of the four Sundays preceding Christmas, an Advent candle is lit. The 4 candles of Advent are Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace, representing the virtues Jesus brought us. The 4 candles are arranged on a circular Advent wreath, with no beginning or end, reminding us of the eternity of God's love and the everlasting love we find in Jesus. Together the Advent candles are a reminder of God's promise to us of salvation through Christ. The first candle purple -Hope(can be called the Prophesy Candle) symbolizes a shining light in anticipation of the coming of Christ and represents God's forgiveness of man's sins.
