Never Give Up

Have you ever had one of those days you do something not quite knowing why? Today was one of those days for me. I don't usually read email or text first thing in the morning before I do my devotional, but I was prompted to do so today.

I saw I had a text message from a friend and she quoted this scripture from Galatians 6:9 - " Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." I thanked her for the Word she had sent out but it was her response that gave me pause "some days I want to throw in the towel." Wow my God - I'm thinking I need to get to her, this is my friend, I know she knows the Lord but is she in crisis. But God in His providence, heard her cry and a flood of angels came to her rescue.

Don't discount the power of friendship. God knows just what we need when we need it - she sent that message in a group text and we all responded with Words of encouragement. He will use you if you will let Him. The some of the rest of her text that went on to say, "This word (Galatians 6:9) spoke directly to my soul...hold on reaping season is coming..."

Here's a few of the responses that flooded her way...

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Hebrews 10:35 says, "Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded."

Grab on to God's hand, then let go and let God.Please don't let life's situation wear you out. Hebrews 4:11 says "make every effort to enter His rest."

We serve an amazing God and we have to be obedient to His promptings and respond. We never know when someone we know and love needs an encouraging Word. Let Him use you.

Because, if we keep our focus on him--not looking right or left, not distracted--we will not be shaken and go straight. Of course, there are struggles in life which try to shake and pull you off the right line. You might not always walk in a straight line, but with your focus on Jesus you see where you are heading.

In Proverbs 3:5-6 it says that if you trust in the Lord with all your heart, God will make your path straight. The more important part in this verse is: ā€œdo not lean on your own understanding.ā€ I think this is important to know.

Godā€™s path wonā€™t always make sense. With your focus on him it will be straight. If we keep our focus on him--not looking right or left, not distracted--we will not be shaken. Of course, there are struggles in life which try to shake and pull you off the right line. You might not always walk in a straight line, but with your focus on Jesus you see where you are heading.

Those verse in Proverbs 3:5-6 says that if you trust in the Lord with all your heart, God will make your path straight. The more important part in this verse is: ā€œdo not lean on your own understanding.ā€ I think this is important to know.

When life seems difficult and complicated, say these words...

"I rest in you when I grow weary, I rest in you when my circumstances seem hopeless."
"I rest in you when I feel life is stressful."
"I rest in you when I'm tempted to do things in my own strength."
"I rest in you because it does not depend on me."
"Lord I Rest In You. Almighty, El Roi (The God who sees and cares)."

Never give up, no matter how dark the clouds over your head. God has a plan for you that will bring unsurpassed joy to your life.

God may change your direction but He will not abandon you. If you persist, you will discover the purpose He has designed for your life and that will bring you more satisfaction than you can possibly imagine. Never give up!

ā€œWe will not be shakenā€

Be blessed and be a blessing!

All That is Within Me

If you are like me and have an iPhone, you've probably spent the last couple days trying to figure out all the updates. If you have more than one Apple device, such as an iPad, you've spent even more time updating it as well. Or maybe that's on your to-do list for today (or tomorrow). It's not a quick update, it takes a fair amount of time; then once you update, you've got to reset a few things. So, that got me to thinking, have I spent the same amount of time alone with God, reading His Word, reaching out to other believers, or witnessing to the lost? I must confess, my answer would have to be "no." God loves us so much, He rejoices when we call on Him, when we reach out to Him in prayer, and when we meditate on His Word. He's so patient and so full of grace. I keep thinking back to the scripture: Deuteronomy 6:5 - Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. All means completely, entirely; for ...

Good Friday

Happy Good Friday   This is the day that we remember what Jesus did for us --- enduring beating, mocking, and being crucified.   I imagine his disciples did not consider it to be a ā€œgoodā€ Friday at the time. But what makes it GOOD is what happened on Sunday --- when Jesus did the impossible and rose from the dead.    Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.  ~ 1 Peter 1:18-19 ESV   One of the best ways of celebrating Jesus and His Resurrectionā€¦is through family traditions.    Family traditions can be as simple as attending  ļø  church and having lunch or brunch together.    Jesus was a story-teller. I believe he knew the power of a story to capture hearts and bring joy while effectively delivering a specific message. He often used parables to tea...
