Common Yellow-Throat Warbler - pictured on the left in this photo They are common in weedy, brushy, and marshy habitats; nearly always in low wet areas. Small and stocky, with short-necked, crouching posture and tail often raised. Common Yellow-Throats are small song birds with  chunky round heads .  Black mask of the male is distinctive and the female has a yellow throat, contrasting sharply with dark cheeks. They sing a gentle, rhythmic, musical rolling  wichety  wichety  wichety  song and many variations of it. Males give a long staccato rattle in breeding seaon.
