Make God Your Source of Approval

 An epidemic of insecurity is stealing the joy of life from many people in our society and causing major problems in their relationships. Insecurity can have many negative effects on peoples lives.

 Those who are insecure, often seek the approval of others to try to overcome their feeling of rejection and low self-esteem. They are approval addicts.

 When we struggle with insecurity, only one thing will set us free - God's truth. The truth is that we don't need to struggle to get from others what God freely gives us: love acceptance, approval, security, worth and value. All these things can be found in a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father, not in any person or thing.

 He is our Refuge, our High Tower, our Strength, our Stronghold in times of trouble and our Hiding place (see Psalm 9:9, 31:4, 32:7, 46:11). Our work, values acceptance and approval come from He. As long as we have those, we have the most valuable things in the world.

 As you look to Him, you will be lifted to new levels of freedom, becoming the confident, mature person you were created to be.

 Look to God for you security. Focus on the truth - He is your refuge and strength. In Him alone, you can be completely confident. He is the giver of love and acceptance

All That is Within Me

If you are like me and have an iPhone, you've probably spent the last couple days trying to figure out all the updates. If you have more than one Apple device, such as an iPad, you've spent even more time updating it as well. Or maybe that's on your to-do list for today (or tomorrow). It's not a quick update, it takes a fair amount of time; then once you update, you've got to reset a few things. So, that got me to thinking, have I spent the same amount of time alone with God, reading His Word, reaching out to other believers, or witnessing to the lost? I must confess, my answer would have to be "no." God loves us so much, He rejoices when we call on Him, when we reach out to Him in prayer, and when we meditate on His Word. 31 Days - Day 21

Today, I'm wondering where the time's going and what will I post?! My brain is on empty. So, what comes to mind at this time is Mandisa's song "Overcomer" which has been playing on the radio a lot lately. Jesus said in John16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!
