Unashamed Session 4

UNASHAMED ONLINE BIBLE STUDY
Session 4
God Never Wastes a Hurt

As unbelievable as it sounds, we are at Session 4 of our Unashamed Bible Study!

Last week was momentous, wasn’t it? Some of us have been wandering out a desert of shame and old hurts for way too long! How’d you do in your private and in your personal study during the week?

I know that we all would rather be “delivered from” the battles and wounds of this life, but sometimes God calls us to “walk through” instead. This week we’re in session four: “God Never Wastes a Hurt” where we’ll dig into the pain we’ve encountered and study how God brings good out of it!

We made it past the half-way point, let’s commit to finish strong!

What We’re Reading This Week... “God Never Wastes a Hurt
·      Answer the discussion questions. Go through the group discussion questions for session four in the Unashamed Study Guide (pages 71-94). These are the same questions we use during our Thursday Live Facebook Party

“Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them. — Genesis 50:19-21

Scriptures we will be reading this week
·      Romans 8:28
·      Genesis 50:15-21
·      Ephesians 4:31-32; Colossians 3:12-14; Matthew 6:12, 14-15

Let’s Chat:

Observe — Our theme this week is “Every scar tells a story. You can allow God to use your past to give someone else a future.”

Bible — Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. — Ephesians 4:31-32

Stretch – Let’s not expect life to bring us smooth paths, sunny days, and a painless journey. Let’s commit to find our healing in Jesus. Let’s allow the Savior to restore us. Let’s commit to never hide our scars but let God use past pain to propel us to future glory…for the sake of Jesus.

Our scars can be a sign of victory and not defeat. They can become a source of hope instead of shame.

The enemy sends a spirits of fear to try to deactivate our faith and to try to paralyze and cripple us.

If we want to pick up our freedom, we have to be willing to drop the baggage.

Here’s to a great week of #OBS #Unashamed-CCMV!

Love & blessings,
Cheryl

All That is Within Me

If you are like me and have an iPhone, you've probably spent the last couple days trying to figure out all the updates. If you have more than one Apple device, such as an iPad, you've spent even more time updating it as well. Or maybe that's on your to-do list for today (or tomorrow). It's not a quick update, it takes a fair amount of time; then once you update, you've got to reset a few things. So, that got me to thinking, have I spent the same amount of time alone with God, reading His Word, reaching out to other believers, or witnessing to the lost? I must confess, my answer would have to be "no." God loves us so much, He rejoices when we call on Him, when we reach out to Him in prayer, and when we meditate on His Word. He's so patient and so full of grace. I keep thinking back to the scripture: Deuteronomy 6:5 - Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. All means completely, entirely; for ...
