Called to Create

The skyline of Québec City, Canada at night.

Québec City sits on the north bank of the Saint Lawrence River and is one of the oldest European settlements in North America.  Québec City serves as the capital of the Canadian province of Québec.

The Montmorecy Fall is 1 1/2 times the height of Niagara Falls; it's an impressive view with nature paths near the falls. The powerful force of nature at work as the water roars down a 270-foot cliff into the Montmorency River where it eventually meets the St. Lawrence River.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 3:5; 16:3 (NLT)

In the midst of our daily hustle, we must trust that it is God who has called us to create, and it is God who will accomplish what He wills in and through our creating. This is what the Apostle Paul was getting at when discussing the different labors involved in the Corinthian church. In 1 Corinthians 3:7, he says, “It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.” Paul saw the work of planting and watering as absolutely necessary. However, he also had a deep trust that, regardless of who was doing what work and how, it was ultimately God who was bringing about the flourishing. This is the type of trust we need to exhibit in our work as well. We hustle hard, but we also trust boldly and purposefully.

Be Blessed and be a blessing!

All That is Within Me

If you are like me and have an iPhone, you've probably spent the last couple days trying to figure out all the updates. If you have more than one Apple device, such as an iPad, you've spent even more time updating it as well. Or maybe that's on your to-do list for today (or tomorrow). It's not a quick update, it takes a fair amount of time; then once you update, you've got to reset a few things. So, that got me to thinking, have I spent the same amount of time alone with God, reading His Word, reaching out to other believers, or witnessing to the lost? I must confess, my answer would have to be "no." God loves us so much, He rejoices when we call on Him, when we reach out to Him in prayer, and when we meditate on His Word. He's so patient and so full of grace. I keep thinking back to the scripture: Deuteronomy 6:5 - Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. All means completely, entirely; for ...
