Create a Contact Sheet in
Photoshop
Creating a Contact Sheet is
a fun way to showcase multiple images on a single page. Simply select a folder
that contains the images from your latest creative photo shoot.
Put all of the images you
want on the contact sheet in one folder on your computer.
In Photoshop, go to File
> Automate > Contact Sheet II.
In the Source Images section
of the Contact Sheet II dialog box, choose the folder that contains your
images.
Under Document, set the
Units, Width/Height, Resolution, and Mode (color mode) for the contact sheet.
If desired, select the Flatten
All Layers option. I usually, leave this box unchecked; this allows me to
rearrange the images later.
Select the Use Filename as
Caption option to label each image based on its file name.
Click OK and Photoshop will
create your contact sheet. If you did not flatten all the layers earlier, you’ll
want to flatten before saving, otherwise it’s an extremely large file. Save or
print it from the File menu and share with family and friends. Another option
is to resize the file size to share on your social media platforms. Select
Image > Image Size change height or width to 2000 pixels on the longest side
for sharing.
One last thing I like to do,
is to add a border to the image, especially if I’m going to share or print the
image. Select Image > Canvas Size > New Canvas Size, in the height and
width boxes enter “0.10” in both boxes, check the relative box and for canvas
extension color choose either black, white or gray from the drop-down menu.
Click OK and Photoshop will create a border.
