8 Things

Think on these 8 things daily...

Know that you are loved..For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV) You probably know this verse by "heart" and have repeated it a thousand times but do you truly believe it in your "heart?"

Refuse to live in fear; fear and worry are tools of the enemy. Fear and Faith cannot occupy the same space.

Be positive and think positive thoughts - do go negative.

  • In Philippians 4:8 gives us our thought pattern - whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (I like how it reads in the KJV)

Recover from setbacks quickly. I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 (KJV)

Avoid comparisons.

Take action - Faith is an action word. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)

  • What comes to mind when you think about God is what you really think about God.

Don't live in "if only" or "what if." Don't live in the past - move forward. Forget the past look to the future. (Isaiah 43:18 - NIV)
  • God is able to make a new beginning - He makes ALL thing new. He turns or test into testimonies and our messes into messages.

Don't always play it safe. If you always do what you've always done and expect a different result - that my friends is the definition of insanity! Try something new and different - a new hairstyle, new lipstick shade, take the scenic route instead of the quickest route.
  • God turns endings into new beginning.

Be blessed and be a blessings!

I've been reading through some of my old journals and this leaped off the page, so I thought I would share. From the pages of my journal dated July 26, 2013

Attitude is Everything

1 Thess 5:16-18 Rejoice always.Pray without ceasing...give thanks in all circumstances.

1 Thess 5: ...encourage one another and build up each other.

John 14:2 - Christ wants us to do even greater than He did.

We need to allow God's Word to do a powerful work in us that through us He can produce the kinds of things we read in Scripture.

We serve a God that is much greater than anything we face. Acts:4:20 tells us that God has not called us to a life of settling for good enough. He has called us to a life that's greater, a life that relies on Him, glorifies Him, and stretches us into the person that God created you and I to be!

Be blessed and be a blessing!

It's a Daily Journey!

God never promised that the road would be easy but He did promise to Never leave or abandon us. Deuteronomy 31:6

Even though I walk through some tough places and some tough times, He is right there - always with me - always. Psalm 23:1

Have faith in God and He will fight all our battles, whatever life throws our way. Mark 11:22

Be blessed or be a blessing!

Something Craftsy

Every wondered what to do with some of those pictures you've saved on your cellphone, pictures you've taken of the kids/grandkids, pets, etc.

I've been working on this fun project and thought I would share. Especially after realizing how easy it is. I like easy!

This is something that would be a fun project for teacher gifts, stocking stuffers or family keepsakes.

All the supplies I used were purchased at Michael's because they carry the brand I like "Golden". These are also available online at Craftsy.com. Other Craft Stores carry these products, so feel free to substitute. I have the Michael's app on my phone and use the digital coupon for my purchases, especially on the Golden supplies.

Here's a picture of the supplies I used - look for these in the art section of the store.

Supplies needed for this project:
1. Gesso
2. Extra Heavy High Gel (Gloss). I like the finished look of the gloss, you may prefer the matte look, which is also available in this line.
3. Grumbacher's Final Varnish Spray (Golden has an Archival Finishing Spray which works the same). If you use the matte gel, get the matte final varnish spray.
4. Ceramic 4 inch tiles (you can buy these in stacks of 4) and/or 6 inch wood plank (other sizes and styles are available). On the tiles, I prefer to use the uncoated ones and after shopping around, they are cheaper in the craft store than the big box hardware stores.
5. Small paint brush
6. Hair (blow) dryer, optional

Print out the picture(s) on plain computer paper and crop according to the size tile or plank you plan to use. You want to let the ink dry to minimize color bleed on your project. I usually print out several the night before.

Next you want to prep you medium either the tile or the wood this process works the same for both. Use can use your hair dryer on the low or cool setting to speed up the drying process.

Step 1: Apply one coat of Gesso to both sides and along the edges of the tile or the wood plank. Let dry or blow dry with hair dryer.

Be sure to rinse your brush with cool water between Gesso & Gel

Step 2: Apply a nice even coat of Extra Heavy High Gel (Gloss) to one side of medium, now gently place your photo on top, smooth out any wrinkles use the blow dryer for about a minute or two; then apply another coat of the Extra Heavy High Gel (Gloss) on top of photo. Let it dry completely or blow dry with hair dryer.

Trim any excess paper from along the edges and rinse your brush so it will be ready to use for the next project!

Step 3: Allow to dry completely for up to 72 hours then spray with a generous coating of the Grumbacher's Final Varnish Spray

Your final finished project will look something like this...Surprise!!! (you know who you are!)

Be blessed and be a blessing!

Can't wait to see pictures of your finished projects!!!

God Is All We Need

HOW TO HAVE A HEALTHY SOUL

  1. Lose the victim mentality.
  2. When you’re feeling powerless, don’t let anyone tell you there’s nothing you can do.
  3. LIVE LIFE WITH GOD.
  4. Pray and be prayed for.
  5. Confess sin! To God, and when appropriate, to others.

The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.

If we are willing, God is our song when we are happy, our escape when we are tempted, our hope when we are despairing, our joy in tribulation, our strength in weakness, and our immortality in dying. Ultimately, He himself is our health.
Beth Moore

He brought us out...that He might bring us in...Deut. 6:23
You never know that Jesus is all that you need, you see, until He's all that you have. J. D. Greear
Apart from God we can do nothing. John 15:5
Trusting that God is in control will move us from doubt and defeat to hope and peace.

Be blessed and be a blessing.

Nice vs. Kind

The nice person is focused on himself – he does nice things in order to be perceived (by others and by himself...
