31 Days of Making Every Day Count

Today I had my whole day planned. I had mentally mapped out what I would write in today's post. I'm very excited to be joining this group and the challenge of blogging for 31 days and "Making Everyday Count!" Several wonderful ladies from my church got together today to pray over our blogs and help each other work out last minute kinks in our blog layouts. So far, I was having a pretty good day until I got home and turned on my computer...NOTHING. Say What?!* Oh no, my notes, my pictures. Life Happened...what to do, what to do. I called my computer guy and he was kind enough to allow me to come to his shop even though it was past time for him to go home - such a nice guy and very knowledgeable about computers. Good new, bad news...good news, he was able to get my computer running again; bad news, my computer has probably reached it's maximum life expectancy. So, I will be spending several hours backing up all my files and shopping for a new computer

What I Learned in September

What I Learned in September Today I'm linking up with Emily at Chatting at the Sky to share "What I Learned in September."  So,  here's a few things I learned along this month's journey. I'm learning that Blogging is Fun! I edited the picture above using a program called Pic Monkey. It's quick and easy, just click a few buttons, add your text and save to your computer. My maiden name is Cooper and a cooper is someone who crafts barrels (read that in a blog and also goggled it!). So could that be the reason I love making crafts! Hum?!* The Great Wall of China measures more than 5,500 miles, that's a round trip from New York to San Francisco! I learned another interesting photo technique called photo stacking. unlike a collage the photos are stacked or time-lapsed into one photo. The file I wanted to use was too large - I didn't save it as jpeg - still learning. However, the program allows you to create some very interesting photos. You c

Contentment

Serving God does make us very rich, if we are satisfied with what we have. 1 Peter 6:6 (NCV) Satisfied? That is one thing we are not. We are not satisfied. We no sooner finish eating a wonderful meal and pat our stomachs. "I'm satisfied," we declare. But a few hours later, or in some cases minutes, back in the kitchen we go looking for something else to eat or snack on. We take the vacation of a lifetime but are not even on the way home before we dread the end of the trip and begin planning another. We are not satisfied. We buy the perfect outfit, including accessories but before we even get if out of the bag, begin to think, "I should have bought it in a different color, size, or style." We are not satisfied. Contentment is a difficult virtue. Why? Because there is nothing on earth that can satisfy our deepest longing. We long to see God. The leaves of life are rustling with the rumor that we will - and we won't be satisfied until we do. Be con

All That is Within Me

If you are like me and have an iPhone, you've probably spent the last couple days trying to figure out all the updates. If you have more than one Apple device, such as an iPad, you've spent even more time updating it as well. Or maybe that's on your to-do list for today (or tomorrow). It's not a quick update, it takes a fair amount of time; then once you update, you've got to reset a few things. So, that got me to thinking, have I spent the same amount of time alone with God, reading His Word, reaching out to other believers, or witnessing to the lost? I must confess, my answer would have to be "no." God loves us so much, He rejoices when we call on Him, when we reach out to Him in prayer, and when we meditate on His Word. He's so patient and so full of grace. I keep thinking back to the scripture: Deuteronomy 6:5 - Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. All means completely, entirely; for

Affirmation

Declaration of who we are in Christ Jesus I thought I would share this, I got it at a women's event at my church. I am a Covenant Daughter of God Most High. I stand in the Authority of Jesus Christ. I stand in the Power of the Living Spirit, living in me. I plead the blood of Jesus to wash over my spirit, cleansing me completely... I stand in the mind of Christ, and choose to live from the Spirit of God within me... I am not a victim! I am an Overcomer! I am a Conqueror! I pray this in the Name above all Names, Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I hope this inspires you. Pray it. Ask anything according to His will. (1 John 5:14) The Father's Love Letter This link takes you to a video clips that is about a 6 minutes long. Listen to it in your quiet space and see if there are one or two things that speak to you. Psalm 24:4-5 The one thing I ask of the Lord - the thing I seek most - is to live in the house of the Lord in His presence, all the days of my life, deligh

Developing a Postive Mental Game

The Great Life For it was I, the Lord your God who rescued you from the Land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide and I (the Lord) will fill it with good things. Psalm 81:10 NLT God emphasizes that He and no one else rescued Israel. The nation should open its mouth wide to take in God's Word. The same God that rescued Israel is waiting and ready to rescue us from our circumstances and want to give us good things as well. God can meet all, yes all , our needs. Open your mouth wide and I (the Lord) will fill it with good things. The heart of God is to bless His people beyond our imagination. Our part in the process is to be willing to receive what He has to offer. We get filled only when we obey His instructions. (Charles Stanley) Take the breaks off your thinking! Whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve. How many times have we heard that? You are like the people you hang around, the books you read and the music that you listen to. Speak life! Inspired by Obedience

“Obedience is the key that unlocks this secret place with God” and “The more we say yes to God, the more we will live in expectation of seeing Him.” Lisa Terkeurst The question being asked is - "Have you been inspired by someone else’s obedience to God?" I would have to say a resounding YES. Just yesterday - received a message from my pastor letting me know that he was praying for me, specifically by name. To say I was blown away is an understatement. To know that God cares about me so much that He - God - would stir in someone's heart to pray for me. To put it more in perspective for you, we have over 10,000 people who attend our church on an average weekend. All I can say is WOW, big WOW. So I looked at my messages this morning, and there he is again - my pastor - with more encouraging words! I've been thanking and praising God. No pray goes unanswered, the Holy Spirit knows what we need before we even ask and intercedes for us.  I want to be a woman who say Y

Persistence - Don't Give Up

God's Promise - Everyone who endures to the end will be saved. Mathew 10:22   But the one who endures to the end will be saved. Matthew 23:13   Don't give up, so easy to say. Three little words. It's not as easy as it sounds. When our faith walk seems at its lowest, when the world seems to ridicule, question, and attack, don't give up.   When prayers seem to go unanswered and problems seem to get worse not better, don't give up.   When obstacles grow higher, don't give up.   Jesus spoke this sentiment and He still speaks, "the one who endures to the end will be saved." Saved from what? Every enemy, every attack, every disappointment, every challenge; every battle, burden and betrayal. John 15:9-10 "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.  The key to remaining is obe
