Inspired by Obedience

“Obedience is the key that unlocks this secret place with God” and “The more we say yes to God, the more we will live in expectation of seeing Him.” Lisa Terkeurst

The question being asked is - "Have you been inspired by someone else’s obedience to God?"

I would have to say a resounding YES. Just yesterday - received a message from my pastor letting me know that he was praying for me, specifically by name. To say I was blown away is an understatement. To know that God cares about me so much that He - God - would stir in someone's heart to pray for me. To put it more in perspective for you, we have over 10,000 people who attend our church on an average weekend. All I can say is WOW, big WOW.

So I looked at my messages this morning, and there he is again - my pastor - with more encouraging words! I've been thanking and praising God. No pray goes unanswered, the Holy Spirit knows what we need before we even ask and intercedes for us.  I want to be a woman who say Yes to God and be radically obedient. So, I did a searched on www.BibleGateway.com the phrase "encourage one another" (NIV). I got 7 results, here are the ones that most inspired me:
  • 2 Corinthians 13:11 - Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! ...encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:18 - Therefore, encourage one another with these words.
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:11 - Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up...this is my most favorite verse. I've used it a lot with my children.
  • Hebrews 3:13 - But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called "Today"
We serve an awesome God, He know us from the inside out. Just like He whispered my name in my pastor's heart and he obeyed; has God placed someone on your heart today. By encouraging and loving others we can help them grow in their faith. We have so many avenues to connect with people, so why not connect with that person or persons today because it is called Today. tomorrow is promised to none of us.

What is God asking you to do today? Find a quiet place with your Bible, let God speak to you through His Word and respond to His prompting. You never know when one kind word will change someone's life forever!

Be blessed and be a blessing - Today!

Travel Adventures 2023

Travel Adventures 2023 – So many places to go!   This year my husband and I traveled to Reno, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park. I took lots of pictures but could only choose a few for this blog. I’ve included a little information about each location we visited, along with a few pictures. Enjoy! Reno is a city in the northwest section of the U.S. state of Nevada, along the Nevada-California border, about 22 miles (35 km) north from Lake Tahoe, known as "The Biggest Little City in the World". Known for its casino and tourism industry. We stayed at the Nugget Casino & Resort...and no, I did not put any money in the slot machines!!! :-) What's a vacation with shopping - the  Outlets at Legends  proved to be more than shopping. Then off to  Virginia City.   Lake Tahoe is located on the border of California and Nevada. About two-thirds of the lake is in California, with about one-third extending into Nevada at the north and south ends of the lake, and the entire

Happy Labor Day!

Labor Day is an annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers. It is a federal holiday in the United States celebrated on the first Monday in September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States. The holidays stem from the late 1800s when labor activists wanted a federal holiday to recognize workers' contributions to the country.   The first U.S. Labor Day was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882 in New York City, planned by the Central Labor Union.  The Labor Day parade of about 10,000 workers took unpaid leave and marched from City Hall past Union Square uptown to 42nd street and ended in Wendel’s Elm Park at 92nd Street and 9th Avenue for a concert, speeches, and a picnic. Oregon was the first to declare Labor Day an official holiday in 1887. Labor Day is considered the 'unofficial NFL season kickoff.' 99.44 percent of the ti
