God's Promises

Psalms 138:8 The Lord will fulfill [his purpose] for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever — do not abandon the works of your hands.

God promises to fulfill HIS plans and HIS purposes for us

Exodus 2:23-25 During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. 24 God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. 25 So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.

Promise 1 – God sees

Promise 2 – God hears

Genesis 15:16 In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.

James 4:2 … You do not have, because you do not ask God.

Matthew 7:7-11 (NLT) “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Exodus 3:1-3 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2 There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire (God’s power & strength) from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. 3 So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”

God knows how to get our attention

Exodus 3:4 When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”

Promise 3 – God comes

Exodus 3:5 “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”

Failure is not a person, but an event

Promise 4 – God loves to forgive and restore

Exodus 3:6-9 Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God. 7 The LORD said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 9 And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them.

Promise 5 – God delivers

Colossians 1:13 (NLT) For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son,

Exodus 3:10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”

Promise 6 – God SENDS every Christ follower (CF) to make HIM known

Exodus 3:11-14 But Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?" 12 And God said, "I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain." 13 Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?" 14 God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

Promise 7 – I AM God who is present and active

PROMISE: God is NOT the “I was GOD;” He is the I AM GOD

Psalm 107:21-22 – Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love…

Do you believe?

Meditate on the Word

Jesus said, "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men. (Mark 1:17 ESV)

God desires a real, authentic relationship with His redeemed people - you and I.

When we let fear determine our course we deny God's faithfulness. We shift our focus from Him and turn to defending, promoting or planning for ourselves.

Fear (False Evidence Appearing Real) and Faith can not operate in the same space. When we live in fear and worry, we are believing Satan's lies - that our God is not big enough to handle our life's challenges. Worry only robs rest from you. Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 NLT

Faith built on a foundation laid by God is:

  • a God so loving one; He sent His only & only Son for us
  • He repairs what was lost
  • He rebuilds what was broken
Let's walk in the Center of God's Will; we can know what His will is by daily reading and meditating on His Word.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
May He make His face to shine upon you,
May you know that if God is for you, who can be against you.
With God on your side whom shall you fear,
May you be like a tree that is planted by rivers of living water,
That you leaves will not wither, and
Whatsoever you do.

Be blessed and be a blessing!

Faith & Endurance

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. James 1:2-4

A Spirit-filled life does not mean one that is problem-free. As Christ-Followers, filled with the Holy Spirit, we still make mistakes, have difficulties, and fall into sin. But we have two distinguishing characteristics that set us apart from other Christians and from unbelievers. First, we not controlled by our circumstances, and second, we refocus quickly after having sinned.

When the Holy Spirit is in charge, our attitude will not be determined by what's going on around us. In other words, life doesn't have to be stress-free in order for us to know peace - our spiritual joy won't diminish even if we should meet with disappointment.

Anyone can be loving, kind, and self-controlled in seasons of blessing (mountain-top experiences). But what happens to our attitude in trying times (valley experiences)? The real test of who we are occurs not when things are going our way but when misfortune show up. If the Spirit is in charge, we will learn to do four things: to love when we want to hate; to practice kindness when we are accused; to respond gently when others are harsh; and to have self-control when temptation strikes hard.

None of us will do all of this perfectly because there is still "self" within us. But when we sin, we will respond quickly to the Spirit's prompting. He won't have to work hard to get our attention, because we are under His authority. We will recognize our wrong action, confess it, and refocus on God's ways.

If you are a Christ-follower, who is in control of your life?

Be blessed and be a blessing!

Keep Circling

Hey all you Circle Makers! Hope you had a great weekend! This week we’re making our way through the final chapters of the Circle Maker.

We are reading chapters 16, 17 and 18.

We can have the best plans in the world, but often we need someone in our corner who is there to remind us. So, I’d like to encourage us to do TWO, yes 2, things this week:

Call a Friend
Find an Accountability Partner

Here’s our verse we’re focusing on this week; you can look up in your Bible or click and read here Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

In verse 9, we begin with: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.”

Now look at WHY two are better than one:
· Verse 10: “If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”
· Verse 11: “Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?”
· Verse 12: “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (So 3 are even better!)

Each line of this passage supports the value of companionship. We were not designed for isolation. We need each other.

Be blessed and be a blessing!

You Are Called To Greatness

Christ wants us to do even greater than He did. John 14:2, 12

We need to allow God's Word to do a powerful work in us, that through us He can produce the kinds of things that we read in Scripture.

We serve a God that is so much greater than anything we face.

God hasn't called us to the life of settling for "good enough" - He called us to "Greater."

Jesus cal us to a life that's greater, a life that relies on Him, brings honor to Him, glorifies Him and stretches us into the person God created us to be.

You are called to greatness!!!

Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8 (NLT)

We should keep our minds & thoughts on things that encourage & build each other up.

Without vision – dreams – imagination – the people DIE!! Proverbs 29:18

The road less traveled is never easy and there are few if any traffic jams.
We are to keep dreaming until the day we die. You are never too old to go after the dream that is in your heart. God is able to accomplish infinitely more than we can ask or think – more than I can ever imagine. Ephesians 3:20. Commit to the Lord whatever you do and all your plans will succeed. God will cause our thoughts to become agreeable with His will! (Proverbs 16:3)

Set Goals – Goals are dreams with deadlines. Whatever is good and perfect comes from God. (James 1:17) Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things (goals, dreams) will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33)

When you pursue you dreams you set the stage for others to pursue their dreams.

When you have a vision & a dream you can overcome ANY obstacle.
What‘s next? It’s not time to wake up!
  • The dream is not over
  • The sky’s the limit – Set high goals & Take action
  • Limitless – Take the lid off, follow your dream!

It’s time to DREAM A NEW DREAM!

Dream big Dreams!! Pray big Prayers!! Everything is possible when you really believe it! Faith to Believe – With God ALL things are possible. Without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6)

May you keep dreaming until the day you die. May imagination overtake memory. For we are more than conquerors. Romans 8:37

Goal List

Life Goal List

I just wanted to share a few things from chapter 15 and I invite you to share what stands out to you in this chapter. I have so much highlighted and underlined, it’s hard to pick but here’s a few things that spoke to me…

“The brain is a goal-seeking organism. (WOW) Setting a goal creates structural tension in your brain, which will seek to close the gap between where you are and where you want to be, who you are and who you want to become. Goal setting is good stewardship of your right-brain imagination. It’s also great for your prayer life.”

Where there is no vision, the people perish. (Prov. 29:18 KJV)

“Goals are the cause and effect of praying hard.” Without a goal, we will drift through life. We are in danger of becoming what Zig Ziglar calls “wandering generalities.”

“…prayers naturally turn into goals, and goals naturally turn into prayers. Goals give you a prayer target.”

“Setting goals is a practical way of dreaming big. If prayer is the genesis of dreams, then goals are the revelation. Goals are well-defined dreams that are measurable.”

When you dream, your mind forms a mental image that becomes both a picture of and a map to your destiny. That picture of the future is one dimension of faith, and the way you frame it is by circling it in prayer.”

“The simple act of imagining doesn’t just remap your mind; it forms a map. And that is the purpose of goal setting. If dreams are the destination, goals are the GPS that gets you there.”

Time is the only resource you can never recapture. Are you spending or investing your time?

With definite goals you release your own power, and things start happening.” – Zig Ziglar

Here are the links to the ten steps to goal setting and a worksheet to help guide you in circling your life goals.

3 John 1:2 – Dear friend, I pray that you may prosper in every way and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.

Something magical happens when you write down your goals.

“Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desires” Psalm 37:4

“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small” – Proverbs 24:10 (KJV)

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely. And may your spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thess. 5:23

Be blessed and be a blessing!
