Life Goal List
I just wanted to share a few things from chapter 15 and I
invite you to share what stands out to you in this chapter. I have so much
highlighted and underlined, it’s hard to pick but here’s a few things that
spoke to me…
“The brain is a goal-seeking organism. (WOW) Setting a goal
creates structural tension in your brain, which will seek to close the gap
between where you are and where you want to be, who you are and who you want to
become. Goal setting is good stewardship of your right-brain imagination. It’s
also great for your prayer life.”
Where
there is no vision, the people perish. (Prov. 29:18 KJV)
“Goals are the cause and effect of praying hard.” Without a
goal, we will drift through life. We are in danger of becoming what Zig Ziglar
calls “wandering generalities.”
“…prayers naturally turn into goals, and goals naturally turn
into prayers. Goals give you a prayer target.”
“Setting goals is a practical way of dreaming big. If prayer
is the genesis of dreams, then goals are the revelation. Goals are well-defined
dreams that are measurable.”
“When you dream, your mind forms a mental image that becomes
both a picture of and a map to your destiny. That picture of the future is one
dimension of faith, and the way you frame it is by circling it in prayer.”
“The simple act of imagining doesn’t just remap your mind; it
forms a map. And that is the purpose of goal setting. If dreams are the
destination, goals are the GPS that gets you there.”
Time is the only resource you can never recapture. Are you
spending or investing your time?
With definite goals you release your own power, and things
start happening.” – Zig Ziglar
Here are the links to the ten steps
to goal setting and a
worksheet to help guide you in circling your life goals.
3 John 1:2 – Dear friend, I pray that you may prosper in
every way and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.
Something magical happens when
you write down your goals.
“Take delight in the Lord, and
He will give you your heart’s desires” Psalm 37:4
“If thou faint in the day of
adversity, thy strength is small” – Proverbs 24:10 (KJV)
“Now may the God of peace
Himself sanctify you completely. And may your spirit, soul, and body be kept
sound and blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thess. 5:23
