Your days are as fun as you make them! This is one of the pictures I took this morning as I was about to go out for my walk. I took this one and the ones below my iPhone so they didn't come out as nicely as I would have liked. I liked the reflection of the houses and the clouds in the background just as the sun was starting to come up.
So, then I decided to see what other fun things I could snap while I was out on my walk and there were some beautiful flowers hidden among the weeds and the trees. I thought about the phrase "why blend in, when you can stand out." That what God wants from us - to stand out, not to be like everyone else and make a difference. He wants us to be in the world, not of the world, sharing the God News - the Real News. So that the world can see the Light of Jesus shining in us - the way we talk, act, think, behave and even how we dress.
Today is a New Day! Today does Matter!
John Maxwell, in his book "Make Today Count" says, Your greatest possession is the 24-hours you have directly ahead of you. How will you spend it? Will you give to pressure or focus on priorities? Will you allow pointless emails, unimportant tasks, telemarketers, interruptions, and other distractions to consume your day? Or sill you take complete responsibility for how you spend your time, take control of the things you can, and make today yours? If you don't decide how your day will be spent, someone else will.
Saying no to things that are good allows you to say yes to things that are great and saying no to things that aren't a priority allows you to say yes to things that are.
Right priorities and good time management demand awareness that today is the only time we have to work with. The past is irretrievable gone and the future is only a possibility. Being consistent with our priorities we must be God first and consult with God the Father regularly in our quiet times.
Matthew 6:25-34 tells us not to worry. we are to "Seek first the Kingdom of God." Living one day at a time keeps us from being consumed by worry. Starting our day seeking God first helps us set our priorities.
By making today great, you can make your life great, because when you take care of today, tomorrow will take care of itself.
God wants to do a new thing! 2 Corinthians 5:17
Run to God not away from God. Proverbs 18:10
God knows what's best for our lives. Romans 8:28
Shine like the stars in the universe as we hold out the Word of Life! Philippians 2:15-16
Enjoy you day - stand out and make a difference! Today does matter!!!
