A Sound and Good Foundation

This morning I read Proverbs 24 as part of my morning devotion and I'd encourage you to read it. I just love verse 3 and it reads - Through skillful and godly Wisdom is a house (a life, a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is established (on a sound and good foundation)... I love it! Our foundation is Jesus Christ and we can stand on God's Words!

While out touring in suburbs of Virginia recently, when we passed this old house, at least a hundred years old or older, and it fits perfectly with this verse.

Proverbs 24:1-4

24 Don't envy evil people
    or desire their company.
²For their hearts plot violence,
    and their words always stir up trouble.
³A house is built by wisdom
    and becomes strong through good sense.
⁴Through knowledge its rooms are filled
    with all sorts of precious riches and valuables.

All That is Within Me

If you are like me and have an iPhone, you've probably spent the last couple days trying to figure out all the updates. If you have more than one Apple device, such as an iPad, you've spent even more time updating it as well. Or maybe that's on your to-do list for today (or tomorrow). It's not a quick update, it takes a fair amount of time; then once you update, you've got to reset a few things. So, that got me to thinking, have I spent the same amount of time alone with God, reading His Word, reaching out to other believers, or witnessing to the lost? I must confess, my answer would have to be "no." God loves us so much, He rejoices when we call on Him, when we reach out to Him in prayer, and when we meditate on His Word.
